Domain & DNS Infrastructure Intelligence
Domain Expiry Lifecycle
When a domain name expires, it enters an Auto-Renew Grace Period (typically 30–45 days), followed by a 30-day Redemption Period before releasing back to the public pool. Checking domain expiration helps ensure business continuity and prevents hostile domain sniping.
DNSSEC Verification
DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) add cryptographic signatures (RRSIG, DNSKEY, DS) to authenticate DNS responses. This prevents DNS spoofing, man-in-the-middle attacks, and unauthorized nameserver redirection.
RDAP vs Traditional WHOIS
Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP) is the modern IETF standardized replacement for legacy port 43 WHOIS. It delivers machine-readable JSON data with enhanced security, standardized error handling, and internationalized domain support.
